Thomas Desmaries TQ & wins 2009 French Cup! The French National Cup for 1/10th scale gas took place recently in Normandy in the North of France. After qualifying, it was Mugen Seiki driver Thomas Desmaries that took the pole position ahead of Nicolas Bougnoteau in 2nd and Basile Concialdi in 3rd position. In the final , there was a race long battle up front with Desmaries or Concialdi inseparable after 45 minutes of racing. In the end the race was won by Thomas Desmaries, only 2 seconds clear of second place Basile Concialdi, with the last step of the podium going to Mickael Derderian. |

2009 Puerto Rico Championship series came to the end last Sunday, after 10 races Andy Baez was able to have six TQ in the 1/10 touring class and five in 1/8 both with Mugen Seiki chassis. This give him five points advantage in the 1/10 class and seventeen points in the 1/8 at the end of the year, showing he is back to back one of the best drivers in the Island. Andrew Kirk with his MRX-4X has won the recent South Island champs for the 2nd year in a row at the Ruapuna track in Christchurch New Zealand. It was a great battle in the final after very close qualifying. Selwyn Duthie and son Luke Duthie placed 3rd and 4th ahead or Todd Risman in 8th also driving a Mugen. touring car race in Singapore! Congratulations to Mugen dirver Nelson Lee for an impressive win in Singapore at the Jus Hobby race track! It was a close race between Nelson and top qualifier Tom Goh in the first 5 minutes, after which Nelson took the lead right up to the finish, 4 laps ahead of 1st runner-up Barry Ng. Nelson also clocked the fastest lap of the final at 13.884 secs. Mugen driver Sam Craig also did a great job of finishing 5th overall in the final with his steady pace with MTX-4R. |

Wayne Walker driving with MBX-6//Ninja JX TQ'ed and wins 45 minutes fina for Buggy classl. Mugen dominate at South African National Rd. 2
On the weekend of 13/14 June 2009, the reigning South African Champion Wayne Joelson driving with MRX-4X clinched the 2009 drivers championship by winning the 45 minutes final from top qualifier position. The SARDA National event took place in the coastal city of Durban. In the 200mm Nitro Touring, Mugen MTX-4R finished 1-2-3 with Christian Fouriefollowed by Rowan Bower and Steve Munslow.

2009 Warm-up for 1/8 on-road World Championship was held at Lostallo, Switzerland, on 26th to 28th of June. Qualification was dominated and showed great performance of Mugen MRX-4X. Robert Pietsch from Germany took the TQ honors followed by his teammate Andrea Pirani and Alberto Picco from Italy. Albert Picco driving with Mugen MRX-4X wins 60 minutes grand final.
2009 Puerto Rico Championship Rd.6 was held on June 28, 2009. Andy Baez driving with Mugen TQ'ed and wins both 1/8 racing and 1/10 touring class again! Fernando Mendez finished 2nd at 1/8 on-road class with his MRX-4X and Juan C. Rodriguez and Jesus Rivera finished 2nd and 3rd at 1/10 touring class with his MTX-4R.

On the 14th of June 2009, at the Messina track, Italy, Francesco Tironi has won the 1:10 Italian Championship round 2, driving his Mugen Seiki MTX-4R, finished with 1 lap lead and Giuseppe Dangelo finished 3rd in the podium as well and Walter Salemi finished 6th with his MTX-4R.

On the 10th of May 2009, at the "Mario Rosati" track in Gubbio (Perugia), Italy, Giuseppe D'Angelo has won the 1:10 European Championship warm-up race, driving his Mugen Seiki MTX-4R powered by the prototype of the new SM engine, tuned by Mario Rossi. Also, Francesco Tironi driving with MTX-4R TQ'ed and showed great performance and finished 5th and Robert Pietsch finished 9th. European championship will be held on July 20-26, 2009.

2009 BRCA Truggy National championship was held at Herts track on May 3rd. Elliott driving with MBX-6T TQ'ed and also showed great strength in the 45 minutes and finished with 2 laps lead! Another Mugen UK team driver Stewart Wilcox finished in the 3rd and Sam Taylor in the 4th with Mugen Seiki MBX-6T!
Rick Vrielijnck (Mugen MRX4X) TQ'ed and wins second round of Dutch national championship followed by Rik Veenma and Arie Manten who is also driving with Mugen MRX4X.
Young and strong driver Mirko Salemi (Mugen MRX4X) wins first round of Italian championship for F1 class with support of his brother Walter and father Luciano Salemi. Also, Mugen driver Stefano Gandin finished 2nd and Daniele Lombardi in the 5th.
1st round of 1/8 Off-Road Italian championship was held at Monsummano track on April 24-25 with more than 200 drivers who participated for this championship. Mugen driver Fabio Boero (Mugen MBX-6/Ninja JX) took TQ. Unfortunately, the final race could not be started due to heavy rain and the final result was based on the qualification. 2009 Puerto Rico Championship Rd.4 was held on April 26, 2009 at Barceloneta. Tory Santiago driving with Mugen MTX4R wins the 40 mins A main, and Fernando Mendez in the 6th and Andy Baez in the 9th.

Var-Racet was held at Staffanstorp race track (the Eurotrack 2006) on Apirl 23-24. Mugen took TQ in both 1/8 and 1/10 touring and wins both classes by Mikael Palsson (MRX-4X) and Mikael Fransson (MTX-4R) who is also TQ'ed and 2nd in 1/8 class.

In the first race of the 1/10 Touring Italian Championship, Mugen wins the expert category. The race was held in Mesero (Milan) on 17-19th of April 2009. Giuseppe D'Angelo (MTX-4R) wins 45 minutes grand final followed by top qualifier Francesco Tironi (MTX-4R).

Bruno Coelho wins 2nd round of Portugal regional championship!
2009 1/8 off-road 2nd round of Portugal regional Championship was held at Torres Vedras, on April 19th. Bruno Coelho driving with Mugen MBX-6 wins 45 minutes main final and finished with 2 laps lead followed by Pedro Figueiredo and Ricardo Martins also both with Mugen MBX-6 and total of 6 Mugen MBX-6 was in the main final.
Elliott Boots wins his first ever National race!
2009 BRCA Rallycross National championship was held at Frankley, on an astro turf surface on April 5th. Elliott driving with MBX-6 qualified 3rd overall, being very consistent through the three rounds of qualifying, scoring two third places, and one forth. Elliott showed great strength in the A, not dropping below forth place, leading for the last 12 laps, and leading for 18 laps of the final, to win his first ever National race. Elliott gained on his opposition by doing 10 minutes stops, and was able to back off on the last 2 laps to make sure of the Victory.
Mugen Seiki would like to congratulate CH Tay on his win in the 1/8 class race with his MRX4-X! CH Tay qualified 10th on the final grid but through a good setup and consistent driving, he worked his way up the field to eventually win the race with a 1 Lap lead. In the touring car class, it was Mugen driver Nelson Lee who qualified 2nd and Ah Heng in 7th for the A-main final. Unfortunately, the race could not be started due to rain and the final result was based on the qualification. We would like to thank all Mugen drivers and the supporting team for their participation in this well-organized event!
Wayne Walker is 2009 Australian Champion!
2009 Australian 1/8 Off-Road Championships held in Perth, Western Australia from March 19th to 23rd. Wayne Walker driving with MBX-6//Ninja JX wins 60 minutes grand final followed by Craig Laughton and Andrew Gillott in the 3rd.

Mugen dominate First South African National of 2009
First 2009 South African On-Road Nationals held at the Border Model Car Club in South Africa from March 7th to 8th. Wayne Joelson driving with MRX-4X wins 45 minutes final and Luca Fanicchi was in the third also with Mugen MRX-4X. In the 200mm Nitro Touring, Christian Fourie driving with MTX4R followed by Steve Munslow also with Mugen MTX4R.

2009 Victorian 1/8 IC Off-Road Championships held in Melbourne, Australia from February 5th to 8th. Wayne Walker driving with MBX-6//Ninja JX wins 45 minutes grand final followed by Matt Griffin and Kyle Mcbride in the 3rd.
2009 Victorian 1/8 IC On-Road Championships held in Melbourne, Australia from January 23rd to 25th. Michael Kerr driving with MRX-4X/Ninja wins 30 minutes grand final with 1 lap followed by Tim Westwood also driving with Mugen MRX4X and Motonica driver Peter Jovanovic in the 3rd.

Nelson Lee has won the first touring car race of 2009 in Singapore by a 3 lap margin in the 45 min A-main final. We would also like to congratulate Mugen drivers Zamil on his 3rd place podium finish and Rosli in 4th position.
