Reigning South African Champion Wayne Joelson started the 2009 season with a win at the first
SARDA National at the Border Model Car Club, not far from the world famous East London Grand
Prix circuit.  Wayne piloted his Mugen MRX4X to a 2 lap victory in the 45 minute final setting a new record.
Evergreen racer Luca Fanicchi, a home favorite drove a great race to finish third.

In the 200mm Nitro Touring Christian Fourie from Johannesburg won his first Nitro powered
national event with his Mugen MTX4R, in the 30 minute Steve Munslow was only 1.9 seconds behind
also driving a MTX4R.

The next event takes place in the coastal city of Duraban from June 13-14.
